Virtual Lactation Consult FAQ
-
What do you need for a Virtual Lactation Consult? A phone, tablet or computer with a working camera and microphone, a quiet spot, and your baby, bottles, or pump nearby.
-
Who can book a Virtual Lactation Consult? I offer virtual consults to families throughout Canada, including Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and so on.
-
Is a virtual consult as effective as in person? We can accomplish quite a bit with a virtual consult! We'll review your feeding history, current challenges and goals, assess your baby's latch and milk transfer, review your baby's weight history (if documented and provided) and help you make a plan to address any challenges. The goal is to help you move closer to your feeding goals.
-
Can you see my baby's latch by video? Yes, I can! Especially if you have a helper or support person with you for the call. They can move the camera to different angles so I can see your baby's latch from all sides.
