Postpartum Doula Support for families throughout Outaouais & Ottawa

Welcoming a baby into your life is a big transition—and you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re preparing for your baby’s arrival or already settling in at home, a postpartum doula can offer experienced, professional support during the early weeks postpartum.

I support families in Chelsea, Wakefield, Masham, Cantley, Gatineau, and Ottawa, providing postpartum doula care that’s warm, practical, and tailored to your unique needs.

How I Support You

Postpartum support looks different for every family. During a visit, I might help with:

  • Gentle, responsive newborn care

  • Care for older siblings (with a parent at home)

  • Pet care (walks, medication, litter—yes, really!)

  • Support for your physical and emotional recovery

  • Breastfeeding and bottle-feeding support (I’m an IBCLC)

  • Light household tasks (laundry, dishes, simple meal prep)

  • Clear, evidence-based answers to your postpartum and infant care questions

  • Referrals to trusted local resources and services

Whether you need a nap, a hot tea, a long shower, or simply someone to listen— I've got you. My goal is to ease the load, offer calm and reliable support, and help you feel more confident and cared for as you settle into life with your new baby.

Postpartum Doula Care FAQ

What is Postpartum Doula Care?
Postpartum Doula Care is professional, experienced support for newborns and parents during the first 12 weeks postpartum. It includes:

  • Practical Support - Understanding normal newborn behavior, soothing, settling, and cue-based care, help recognizing what’s normal vs. when to seek medical care, and gentle guidance around normal sleep rhythms (without sleep training).

  • Recovery and Adjustment - Emotional support and space to process your birth experience, normalizing the ups and downs of early postpartum, ensuring you’re eating, hydrating, and resting, light household support related to baby care (washing bottles or pump parts, tidying feeding spaces), creating space for you to shower, nap, or step outside

  • Finding your Footing - My roles isn't to teach you to “do things perfectly.” My goal is to provide you with steady support when everything feels new, while helping you build confidence in caring for your baby, feel grounded as you recover and adjust, make informed decisions about feeding, and move through the first 12 weeks with more less overwhelm.

Who is Postpartum Doula Care for?
Doula support during the first twelve weeks postpartum is especially helpful if you:

  • are a first-time parent

  • are navigating feeding questions or challenges

  • want expert guidance as questions crop up

  • don’t have nearby family support

  • are recovering from a difficult or unexpected birth

  • want professional, non-judgmental care in your home

  • simply want to take a nap or move about the house freely knowing that your little one is safe and cared for.
