A Postpartum Doula can help you thrive after giving birth.

What is a Postpartum Doula - and How Can One Help You?

You’ve just had a baby.Your body is healing, your emotions are all over the place, and your days blur together in a mix of feedings, naps (for the baby… not you), and endless laundry.

Now imagine having someone by your side who knows exactly what you’re going through — who can guide you, care for you, and help you feel more confident every single day.

That’s what a postpartum doula does.

What is a postpartum doula?

I provide Postpartum Doula support to the Outaouais-Ottawa region.

A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to families in the first weeks or months after birth.

Unlike a midwife or medical professional, a postpartum doula focuses on the non-medical side of recovery and newborn care — so you can focus on bonding with your baby.

My role includes:

  • Helping with newborn care (diapering, soothing, safe sleep, feeding)

  • Guiding you through breastfeeding or bottle-feeding challenges

  • Offering emotional support and reassurance

  • Helping with light household tasks so you can actually rest

My goal is simple: to nurture and empower you so you feel confident in your new role.

Six Ways a Postpartum Doula Can Help You

  1. Practical Assistance

I take care of light household chores, meal prep, and other tasks so you can take that shower, enjoy a warm meal, or sneak in a nap without feeling guilty.

  1. Guidance in Infant Care

From diaper changes to soothing techniques, I share up-to-date, evidence-based tips that work with your parenting style and your family dynamic.

  1. Individualized Breastfeeding Support

As a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, I can answer feeding questions your doctor might not have time for, troubleshoot challenges, and help you feel more at ease with nursing.

  1. Confidence Building:

I'll be your sounding board and cheerleader, helping you trust your instincts. I know that when you believe in yourself, you'll be able to make the best choices for your family.

  1. Emotional Support:

Whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or just need someone to listen, I provide a safe, judgment-free space for you to share your feelings.

  1. Reducing Feelings of Isolation:

Postpartum life can feel lonely. I’ll be a steady, understanding presence so you don’t have to navigate it all by yourself.
